Hammers hope and Wigan wish: history points to decent days for w-w-w-worried clubs

These are w-w-w-worrying times for West Ham, Wolves and Wigan, who occupy the bottom three places in the Premier League before this weekend’s games, if not for West Brom under Woy, sorry Roy, Hodgson, who has lifted his team to safety.

Woy’s boys could even storm into the top 10 in the table if they beat Wolves on Sunday.

Before that, West Ham host Blackburn while Wigan travel to Aston Villa.

Slivers of hope are what managers, players and especially fans seek in w-w-w-worrying situations like these.

And those slivers for West Ham and Wigan fans, we hope, are clear from the tables below.

West Ham have gained more home points from Blackburn than from any other club in their time in the Premier League.

And Wigan have gained more away points at Villa than from any other opponent in their time in the Premier League.

No need to thank us – especially as history guarantees nothing. W-w-w-worryingly.
