Fulham’s history in blue half of Manchester points to being City slickers

Earlier in the week we highlighted how Fulham had held a perfect Prem record against West Brom, and no sooner had we highlighted it, it went pop as they could only draw 1-1. That’s Sod’s Law – and the glory of sport.

Neither does it prevent me from highlighting, ahead of Fulham’s visit to Manchester City on Saturday, quite what a superb record Fulham have at City, relatively speaking.

Of all the current Premier League teams that Fulham most like to visit, it should be, historically and statistically, City.

Fulham often struggle on their travels to pick up points but on their visits to City they have gained five more points than in their home games with City.  Our table below shows what unusual an achievement that is for them.

They’ve won eight Premier League home points against City – and 13 away. Their last four league visits have seen two draws and two wins, for example.

Now I’m not promising that Martin Jol will emerge from the Etihad with a win, or even a point. But if he does … well don’t be too surprised.

At the other end of things, Fulham have won 25 points from Everton at home – and not a single one away.
